Setting A Goal, Putting It In Writing!
The Pile Gone By Halloween 10.31.08

We got a visit from Commissioner John Haupt today resulting from concerned citizens calls to him inquiring about the cardboard pile outside. John said he understood the position we are in after an impromptu tour and demonstration of our new baler.
Material Market News.
Shipping of ONP (old newspaper) has been slow. Last week we had 4 load to ship that got picked up Monday of this week. The slow down is due to mills being full right now. We are preparing for continued slow downs in shipments and prices decrease next month.

Monday! On The mend.

10/20/08
On our way to mending the major pile of back log recycling at our facility. Over the weekend, one shift on Saturday and Sunday, 95 bales were produced. Great Job Crew! Thank you also to the assitance from Steve Davidson, DPW director of Shepherd and for lending out his four man Community Service Crew.
In addition to the high numbers of bales produced we also;
  • had no shut downs do to conveyor shorts (Thank You Block Electric)
  • used lowwer preasure setting, from 2,800 down to 1,300 resulting in bale weight increase (Thank you, Mike from S.O.C.R.R.A. Troy, Michigan) Bale Weight increased from 900 to 1,200 pounds!
